Is A Commenter Getting Your Goat?

Comments are a publisher's best friend as it increases popularity, reputation and usually ranks the article higher on the site's "hot" list. But what do you do when a commenter is unpolished, crude or trying his best to sabotage your reputation and credibility?

A good writer will complete many hours of research on a subject, possibly includes interview information and checks sources well in order to produce a fair and accurate article. After bearing sweat and tears and the publishing gammut, on 50+ articles, that last thing a writer needs is a blowhard know-it-all undermining your articles. If intrusive comments are only made to one article, the feeling will spread to other articles read by a reader. Your reputation will be stunned.

A site like HubPages gives you an option to moderate comments BEFORE they are posted on your Hub. PrintNPost will notify you via email about a new post on your article but will still publish it before your chance to read it. Triond will post the comment for all to see and then it is up to the writer to notice the comment and delete it.

In the spirit of free speech, I do not make it a habit to delete comments especially when they are intended to be constructive critisism. In one case, the "know-it-all" seems credible but does not share my opinion. That's okay if the comments are well structured, thoughful and professional. The particular writer I am talking about slammed my article, the contents, called me a liar and demanded personal information. It doesn't look like this commenter is a publisher and doesn't realize I am able to delete him. Which I did. Let's see his next move.

Utilize your comment moderators and do not feel bad using them to delete opinions or comments. Your reputation is at stake for everything written on your article, Hub or Lens, whether or not you said it.

(513) 217-6631 More Information

Follow this link for everything you need to know about this phone number and how to stop these and other telemarketers from calling you...FOR GOOD!

(513) 217-6631--Who Is This?

(513) 217-6631

Do you get calls from this number? Listen to the voicemail and all you get is two random people talking in the background? It isn't a prank, I think it's a scam. The few people I talked to said the company's name is Primiere Publications, a tele-marketing company. The operator calls and offers a "One Million Dollar Sweepstakes Entry". This company is calling hundreds and hundreds of people, many times a day. They are getting on my nerves too.

Former Relationships

How interesting it is to catch up with a former boyfriend. Depending on where your current relationship is in the sceme of happiness gauges how you will react to a chance encounter. In my experiences, and I have had quite a few of these (fate or karma), the dinstinct former flames remain close to my heart, as friends. I care for their wellbeing and that they are currently happy. I hear many talk about jealousy when they find out their former boyfriend/girlfriend is happy. This can only be true when these people are in unhappy relationships or not in one at all, because since I have been married I am nothing but happy for the few guys I have run into that I was formerly dating. This fact must be because I am extremely happy and in love with my husband. The flames for any other are now only embers of care and concern. Memories are forever. We just keep learning for tommorrow, every day.

Waiting...

Cubs v.s. Sox today at Wrigley. An All-Chicago World Series coming up? Cubs fans have been waiting too long for another World Series to be sharing it with the old Sox from the dirty South (Side of Chicago). I am a fan by default as I am afraid I would not be married anymore if I chose not to be a Cubs fan. Let the best man win, I suppose. 100 or so games left, there is plenty of time for the winds to change.

Summertime

I grow bored and anxious for the new semester to start. Lots of time to write though. Work was not able to upgrade my hours to full-time since I am very part time the rest of the year. So here I sit with my coffee and cigarettes brainstorming about the next topic I should write about. I woke 4 hours earlier than usual today to make sure my husband's clothes were ready for his big presentation meeting today. I think I burned the underside of his shirt collar. Oops. I am really proud of him.

Wedding in LA

Los Angeles? What a beautiful place to have a wedding, I would love to come! Oh, you mean in Louisiana? Both bridal families live in Illinois. How could you expect everyone to fly or drive all the way down to the busted up boot in the South? (no offense to Katrina victims). Even though the wedding is a year from now, I don't know if I will attend. Don't be selfish like this, folks. I was married in a civil ceremony at a courthouse which some may think is selfish. I think it's smart and frugal. Family was able to attend and the courthouse has beautiful rooms with flowers set up. Elope if you want to go to LA (Louisiana) to get married. Bring home pictures, I'd love to see them.
